Privacy Policy for Net Worth View

Last updated: July 28, 2026

Net Worth View is a browser-based net worth tracker and projection tool. This policy explains what information is stored by the website, how analytics and advertising services may collect information, and the choices available to you.

Information you enter into the app

The financial information you enter into Net Worth View, such as assets, accounts, income, expenses, projections, and display preferences, is stored locally in your browser. Net Worth View does not require an account, and this information is not intentionally sent to our servers.

If you choose to import, export, download, upload, or load data from a link, you are responsible for where that file or link is stored and who can access it.

Local browser storage

The app uses IndexedDB, mirrored to local storage, for the financial data you ask it to save and for a short-lived cache of public exchange rates. It uses first-party cookies to remember display preferences and your privacy choices. These technologies are treated as strictly necessary or as functionality you explicitly request; they are not used to profile you or select ads.

The first-party privacy-choice cookie lasts for up to 400 days so that an opt-out is not repeatedly requested. Other first-party settings may also last for up to 400 days. The exchange-rate cache normally refreshes after 12 hours. Your locally saved financial data remains until you clear it in the app or through your browser.

Once you have data saved, the app asks the browser for persistent storage, so the browser does not delete that data on its own to reclaim space. The browser decides whether to grant this, and it stays a local setting of your browser: nothing about the request, and nothing about your data, is sent to us or to anyone else. Some browsers clear website storage after a period without a visit regardless — the Data menu shows what applies to the browser you are using, and an exported backup file is always yours to keep.

Google Analytics

The Google Analytics tag loads on app pages in Google's advanced consent mode. Before the tag is configured, Analytics storage defaults to denied. If you have not made a choice, reject optional cookies, or enable Global Privacy Control, Google Analytics does not read or write first-party Analytics cookies. It instead receives limited cookieless measurement pings using Google's standard Consent Mode behavior.

Cookieless pings have no Analytics cookie or persistent browser identifier, but an ordinary network request may still expose information such as your IP address, browser or device details, screen resolution, full page URL, referrer, and consent state to Google. Google describes these pings as anonymous and uses them for basic measurement and modelling. The financial figures you enter are not intentionally sent to Google Analytics.

If you enable Audience measurement in Cookie settings, Analytics storage becomes granted. Google Analytics may then set or read first-party Analytics cookies and use persistent identifiers for fuller audience measurement. Advertising storage and personalization remain separate choices.

Google AdSense and advertising cookies

We use Google AdSense to show advertisements only after you enable Google advertising in Cookie settings. Google may then receive your IP address, page URL, browser and device information, advertising identifiers, and ad interactions, and may store or read cookies and similar technologies.

Personalized advertising is a separate choice. If you allow advertising but turn personalization off, we request non-personalized advertising from Google. You may also control personalized advertising through Google Ad Settings. Cookies and similar technologies

Optional Analytics storage and advertising technologies are off by default. The cookieless Analytics measurement described above does not use Analytics cookies or persistent identifiers. The first notice offers equally accessible Accept all and Reject all choices, plus granular settings. You can withdraw consent at any time through the Cookie settings link on every page. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred while valid consent was in place.

We also honor a browser Global Privacy Control signal by denying Analytics storage and disabling Google advertising and personalization, and treating it as an opt-out of sale, sharing, and targeted advertising. Analytics remains limited to cookieless measurement. You can use the “Do not sell or share my personal information” link on every page for the same immediate opt-out. The app remains fully usable after any refusal or opt-out.

Third-party services

The website includes the Google Analytics tag on app pages under the storage rules described above. After you enable advertising, it may also include Google AdSense and its advertising partners. These services may collect information directly from your browser, including your IP address, page URL, browser and device information and, when the relevant storage is granted, cookie identifiers and interaction data. We do not provide the financial information you enter in the app to Google for advertising.

Third-party services process information under their own privacy policies. For more information, review Google's Privacy Policy.

To perform currency conversion, the app fetches public exchange-rate data from the open-source Currency API through the jsDelivr content delivery network. The request does not contain the financial figures you entered, but the service receives ordinary connection information such as your IP address, browser details, and the requested URL. Review jsDelivr's privacy policy for details.

Your EU and UK choices

Where the EU GDPR, ePrivacy rules, UK GDPR, or PECR apply, you may refuse or withdraw consent for non-essential technologies without losing access to the app. Depending on your circumstances, you may also have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to processing and to complain to your local data-protection authority. Most app data exists only in your browser, so you can inspect it through Export and erase it through Clear all data.

Your US state privacy choices

Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of covered personal data, and to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling. We do not sell the financial information you enter. Some laws may define advertising disclosures as “sharing” or targeted advertising; use the “Do not sell or share my personal information” link or Global Privacy Control to stop those disclosures from this browser. Re-enabling an optional service after an opt-out requires a separate confirmation. We do not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
